This mask is a manifestation of a nightmare I experienced while sleeping. It is part deer, part human, part otherworldly beast. This creature does not tactlessly attack; instead it patiently waits for you to stumble.

140+ man-hours over the course of 4 months went into the making of this "nightmare deer" mask. The antlers were modeled after a real deer rack. Antlers are made of wire, foam, and duct tape covered in paper mache and paint - they have some flexibility and movement to them when you walk wearing the mask.

This is not only a mask; it would also make a unique interior decorative piece for the right house or collector.

The Nightmare Deer Mask has only been worn by one other person; it's creator.

The main "skull" is mostly made of paper mache, and it fits tightly over a head with a brow circumference of 22.5 inches. If your brow circumferance is larger than 22.5 inches, it is unlikely this mask will fit over your head.

There is some foam padding inside the mask for comfort, and elastic straps at the base of the mask that conform tightly to the chin/jawline of your head. But, by no means is this a "comfortable" mask to wear. It weighs about 5 lbs; the width of the antlers is ~20.5 inches, and the antlers will add an additional ~14 inches to your height. Tall people should walk through doorways with caution while wearing this mask. Shorter people should be careful not to poke others with the mask antlers. Even though the antlers are not very hard (made of foam and paper mache), they could still do some harm.

It is a challenge to see outside of the eye holes of the mask at times because of their positioning. - Especially in poor lighting! Any future 'Nightmare Deer Mask' wearer should maneuver with extreme caution!

The mask can also become very hot to wear, and in rooms with poor ventilation it can sometimes become hard to breathe. It is best worn in cool rooms with good ventilation, and in cooler outdoor temperatures.
